Joseph Axne - Owner/CEO

Joe has more than 20 years of IT systems and services support experience. He started as a desktop technician in the early 90’s and was promoted continuously throughout his career to a Sr. Systems Administrator and Team Lead for American Medical Response (AMR).

AMR merged with Emergency Medical Services Corp (EMSC) where Joe earned the responsibility to oversee the Nationwide 911 dispatch and Ambulatory dispatch systems, including support for the islands of Hawaii.

Joe started I.T. Guru in 2005, personally financing the new venture to assist small and medium businesses in Denver Metro with their IT support needs. Since then, Joe and his team have been assisting hundreds of extremely happy clients with managed services for their computers and IT networks. I.T. Guru provides each of these clients with a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Solution assuring the business owner’s intellectual property is protected against the consistent threats that exist within any technical environment.

An animal lover himself, in 2012 Joe decided to bring I.T. Guru’s market focus exclusively to veterinary practices and animal health providers. It has allowed the team to gain a complete understanding of the client’s specific IT practice needs. Of special note is the development of the IT Standards of Care for veterinary practices, a resource and roadmap all practices should have in place to ensure continuity of care.

Joe is an active member of VetPartners, a national group of trusted veterinary consultants and advisors.

Debra Novak – Business Operations

Since Joining IT-Guru in 2014 as Joe’s Assistant, Deb has been instrumental in the transition to Veterinary IT Support. Working remotely with our staff, she has long term experience working in “IT” and understands the end-user view point.

Primarily in a back office role, Deb has expertise in operations, customer service, coordinating/planning, supporting our staff in daily operational and administrative functions, along with our continual process improvement.

After growing up in Ventura, California, she lived in the Washington DC area and now resides in Chagrin Falls, Ohio with her husband, granddaughter, and their adopted cat “Miss Kitty”. She enjoys watching Indy Car & Formula One racing and loves Mexican food.

Robert Gennet - Virtual CIO

Rob has worked in IT for over 20 years with a few detours through acting and audio engineering. He began his career in Manhattan working at Big Law Firm Help Desks and worked his way up to management. He’s been managing IT Departments for the last 7 years and is now our vCIO.

Rob moved to Colorado five years ago and lately he’s been hiking with his giant dog named Atlas, who might be part mammoth.

He has more hobbies than he can count including (but not limited to) model building, photography, guitar, martial arts, and unicorn training. He’s sure his three kids probably think he’s the coolest dad ever. Well, his dog definitely does.

Anna Rhea – Service Desk Lead

A Mississippi native, Anna moved to Denver and joined the I.T. Guru team as Service Desk Lead Tech in 2020. Over the last 14 years, she has worked in IT in a variety of industries, including television broadcast and, most recently, education.

In her free time, Anna enjoys playing various musical instruments, almost finishing video games, tolerating her girlfriend’s model train obsession, and aspiring to rescue and own every cat in existence. Her true passion is vegetable gardening, and she is excited to continue in her new home.

She prefers high pulp orange juice and can easily be bribed with any sort of sour candy.

Blake Traxler – Professional Services Tech

Blake, a Colorado Native has been working in technology since 2013 upon completion of his Bachelor’s degree in 2012. Before joining IT-Guru, Blake has had wide-ranging experience helping various industries including Vets, Hospitals, Butcher shops, and Accounting firms.

In his free time, Blake enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures. He attended a music festival in 2018 in the Czech Republic. He had so much fun he decided to go back in 2019, but before going back to Prague, he went to the UK & Scotland. While in the UK, he developed a decent English accent & learned lots of UK lingo. He also enjoys listening to audiobooks, salsa dancing, and working out.

Adam Ellch – Systems Administrator

Adam grew up with IT being the primary family business. His father was a computer programmer, and brother is a penetration tester. Always tinkering, his first professional entry into the IT world was writing Bots to play poker for him.

Once new regulations dried up that income stream, he figured it was probably a time to shift into a “proper” IT job. In 2009, he got his first HelpDesk position and hasn’t looked back since.

Over the last 11 years Adam has moved his way up the ranks, the last four years spent in the Systems Administrator role.

In his spare time, he likes to ride his electric skateboard, attends concerts + music festivals, and plays with his dog Kappy. (It is short for Capybara – she looked like one when she was a puppy).

Cole Harrison – Technical Support Specialist

Cole our Technical Support Specialist started working in IT in 2005, as an intern with Douglas County, focused on SAAS deployments and support with Office 365 MDM services Knox and Airwatch, along with Cradlepoint mobile router support.

He grew up with a knack for taking things apart that he couldn’t put back together, cars included.

In his spare time Cole plays games with friends, ranging from horror to MMOs with favorites to play being EVE and WoW, and painting miniatures for Warhammer 40k.

Bryan Bansbach – Sr. System Administrator/Tier 3 Tech

Bryan has been involved in technology since he was little, starting what would later become a career in IT from having to constantly fix his family’s budget computers if he wanted to play computer games.

He formally began his career in IT in 2005 and moved into the small business IT industry in 2010 where he has developed into a senior level role. With a strong focus on virtualization, networking, and cyber security he’s been able to play a critical role in developing and supporting client infrastructure and allow businesses to function more efficiently, securely, and use their technology to help drive growth.

Born in Southern California, Bryan has lived and work on both ends of the coast, moving from Southern California to Rhode Island, back to Southern California, and now finally landing in Colorado where he hopes to settle down for the long haul.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and their two Alaskan Klee Kais (do yourself a favor and look them up!), being a forever Dungeon Master, playing drums, and tinkering with technology.

Bryan Slack – Service Desk Tech

Bryan Slack is from Colorado and has lived there most of his life. He loves the mountains and spending time with his family outdoors as much as possible. Bryan has been in the IT industry for last 6 years and has loved it ever since.

He is an avid sports fan ranging from golf to football to boxing. His family loves animals and they have owned turtles, dogs, and cats. They currently have two cats, Stella and Tibby.
